A major hurricane, flood or earthquake can hit in just about any part of the civilized world. Utilities and fuels can be knocked down for extended periods of time affecting a wider range of territories. This is not meant to scare you, but help get your family and animals safely out of harms way to survive until the danger passes.

After recent years of disasters shown in the news, you know it is important to have all your gear ready in case of a storm and if you watch the Weather channel often, you will notice some supply lists.

In case it has slipped your mind, here are a few things to have and simple ways to get by if you have to evacuate an area. Print this page or save this site for more info.

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR ANIMALS BEHIND. They will suffer terribly without your care.
Dogs, cats, rabbits and small pets can ride in the car with you.

If you have horses or cattle let them be free in a field or woods instead of locked up in a barn, but leave the barn open in case they want the shelter. They will need to move around and will follow their natural instincts as to where the best places are to avoid being hit hard by the winds..

First, make sure you have reliable transportation, and keep it in good condition with plenty gas, and plenty of time to spare in case there are last minute changes.

Have extra keys for each mature driver in the family, and if you are all evacuating, take as many of the trucks and cars out with you.

What to Bring:

Plastic containers and bags for the following items. Keep your packs LIGHT and durable. When you get situated you can use these to collect rain water for washing clothes, dishes and drinking.

Important papers to keep in a separate water tight box: deed to the house, insurance cards, birth certificates, passports, veterinary records.

Cash, if the electricity goes out there will be no ATMs, and a credit card.

Put ID's on every pet and child. It is possible to return them to you if they get lost or separated from the group.

Water filter pitcher and fresh filters: so you don't have to carry heavy cases of water, you can refill the pitcher at any public fountain, gas station or rainwater.

Tents, tarps and plastic drop cloths so you can pitch any where without paying rent for expensive hotels.

Thin rubber mattresses that can roll up. Blankets, pillows and towels.

Don't bother with alot of clothes, just take a few underwear and socks, walking sneakers, sandals and protective jackets.

Vitamins and medications. Dry foods like nuts cereals, fruit, cheese and canned soup. Dog/cat food. A can opener.

Paper cups, plates and paper towels. A few pieces of cutlery, a few large bowls and a good knife w/ cover.

A box of sanitary handy wipes. A box of Baking soda has many uses for cleaning.
First Aid kit: bandaids, cotton balls, small bottle of hydrogen peroxide.

A multi-function tool with pocket knife, screwdrivers etc. so you can make repairs and that folds up.

Maps and compass.
Flashlight and batteries. Cell phone if you have one, but listen to your car radio for local news.

Find a campground that allows pets and your whole family will be ok for a few weeks until you can go home or find a new location.

Is it any wonder that people in the cities are more angry and more prone to extremism than country folk? I read today how radical movements are intensifying in and around London, where millions of Arabic nationals have migrated over the decades. Now they are as crowded, cramped and poor as they were in their home countries. Dissatisfied and out of options,  they want a western life style but hate the people who created it. What I saw when I looked out my kitchen window this morning, was peace, sunshine and plenty of fresh air.  I don't make any money but I have space and a few tomatoes in the garden....

Here are suggestions to guide us through the coming shifts in the weather patterns.

The Earth is changing and all her inhabitants will feel the pressure.
As she is moved by larger forces in relation to our solar system, we
are by nature influenced by the energies that are part of this
intricate design.

As the energy shifts it will effect the local and global environments.
It's not possible to predict all the tornadoes, or earthquakes, or
weather patterns, especially if the patterns we have gotten used to are
revised over time. However, there are a few ways to evolve with the
climate.

First, find ways to filter your air and water, and to supply heat in
case the electric grid goes down for a long period of time. Roads can
be blocked and that will prevent oil, gas and other supplies from being
transported. Have some stock of food for your family and animals that
does not require cold storage or cooking. Then keep a bit of cash on
hand so you are not dependent on the web, or banks for assets.

Along the way you may search for help from government or other
authorities but you may find some information and then be disappointed
or misled. It's better for you to rely on your instincts and trade
skills with those you trust locally.

A good idea is to watch your animals and native wildlife for signs of
changes in their behavior. Their senses are much sharper and will alert
us if we are listening. Just like a cat who hides from loud noises, or
birds who collectively silence themselves before a storm.

While you have time, to look for ways to shore up water sources and live
peacefully side by side, or move to new location.

Rain and drought can trade places in certain areas. It has happened
several times before in Earth's history, over millions of years. The
Grand Canyon is an obvious example. Water, which takes many forms,
including rain, rivers, lakes, ocean currents, clouds, snow, glaciers,
ice caps, and every combination will be changing in quality and form.

Some groups of people who have taken life for granted will face unusual
hardships, some who have lived a modest life will find unexpected grace
that didn't exist before.

If people are caught unawares, there will be trials and hardship, but
more relief to follow as with every cycle. However, the simpler your
lifesyle, the more your senses can be open to knowing what to do, you
are free to move on with fewer burdens to deal with.

Now is a good time to sort out what is important, make peace with your
loved ones, and give away the rest. Life in its purest sense is all we
really have anyway.

In the end, where ever you in consciousness is where you continue. This
may involve a whole new life or point of view in which to continue the
journey.

Waves of Change are on the way......

All of life on our little planet is bound by the laws of physics. The elements of wind, water and fire are the most fluid, weaving through wildlife and nature, but is balanced by the sturdy, solid crust of the earth.

On a broader scale, we are living in an ocean of cosmic energies, some measureable some not, however, we can calculate and observe phenomena and make correlations.

My scientist friends think it is silly to watch the stars for the seasons of change they predict on Earth, but astrology does have a history of probabilities that can be monitored.

Uranus the planet of creativity and invention, is now at 14* in the watery sign of Pisces. It is a unifying sign and all things related are expected to be under revision during the next 5 years.

While Uranus spent 7 years in Aquarius, an air sign which rules cultural intellect and humanity, we saw the networks of communications and the electronics boom.

Before that, Uranus was plodding through the solid earth sign of Capricorn. During that transit awareness of the energetic properties of rocks and crystals came to light in a broader way.

So in relation to water, we will see new issues come to the surface. Quality and treatments of potable resources which we have come to accept, will be under revision. Recycling used water will be more important.

Water changes forms too, like the Polar caps melting into the oceans, raising sea level concerns for fragile islands, eroding coastlines or saturating the ground causing more landslides.

The recent increase in hurricanes, typhoons, and tsunamis during the last 7 years is more proof this is true. We may be more affected by the frequency and magnitude of these in coming years.

An aspect of this transit that is reflected in consciousness may be the softening of the 'spiritual warrior'. Self help gurus and preachers that have built a following, may find that their congregations do not want to hear rhetoric anymore. Humans who have been working on their own sensitivity will likely pay more attention to their inner voices, intuition, or dreams.

If you know about your own astrology charts, all the planets in the water signs will be touched by this gradual transit. You will feel it especially if your sun or rising signs are in Pisces, Scorpio or Cancer.

Whatever happens, it is sure to bring some surprises, because that's what Uranus does to energy, shifts the stream for creative insights and solutions.
